The Health Equity Collective
Health inequities are often addressed in silos — through fragmented programs, short-term funding, or top-down initiatives that fail to center community needs. The Health Equity Collective set out to change that. As a national organization, we worked to create a collaborative hub where equity isn’t just discussed, it’s actively designed and built across multiple disciplines, backgrounds and regions in the United States.
As Chief Brand Officer (Creative, Strategy & Culture), I lead the brand, creative direction, and colead the strategic and cultural structure of the Collective:
Co-Design for Healing Systems: Partnered with over 260+ members from grassroots leaders to national organizations to build tools, frameworks, and spaces rooted in community wisdom.
Unlocking Resources: Developed strategies and narratives that helped communities access unrestricted funding, partnerships, and institutional support previously out of reach.
Narrative & Identity: Shaped the brand identity and storytelling that positioned the Collective as a trusted hub for equity-driven design.
Culture & Engagement: Designed rituals, communication frameworks, and convenings that kept a large, diverse membership aligned and inspired.
The Impact
Helped move $18.5M+ in funding toward community-led solutions over 5 years.
Scaled the Collective from a vision to a network of 260+ engaged members that we actively invest in (and growing).
Positioned the Health Equity Collective as a national model for how design, culture, and strategy can transform equity work.
Demonstrated how creative leadership can drive not just brand presence, but real systemic change.
I was awarded an Anthem Award (A Webby Award) recognizing excellence in social impact and community-driven innovation through the learning hub.
Learning Hub (2023)
The Pathway to Equity is a game I conceptualized, designed and codesigned the content for that sparks creative discussion towards restorative justice and fosters best practices for conflict resolution. There is a physical game (pictured) and digital. This game is currently being used in academic institutions and nonprofits across the country
Anthem Award (Webby) (2024) The Health Equity Learning Library is a comprehensive resource collection, collaboratively curated by The Health Equity Collective featuring leaders such as Angela Davis, Dr. Uche Blackstock, and Cara Page.
In collaboration with Sango, a sonic anthropologist, producer, DJ known for “Beats are the Base & Change is Forever”. We co-created a healing sound experience that blends science, cultures, and rhythm to promote well-being and collective renewal.
I conceptualized and designed this Leadership journal was designed to support and inspire leadership practices as collective members read the books we gifted them at events and conferences we produced.
